'Watch and Pray' is the distinctive message on the clock face of the Church of All Saints - West Acre. The tower dates from 14th century. Alongside the church is the gate house of the former Abbey of West Acre. Although only a few fragments remain - especially of the tower and chapter house, the Abbey itself was more influential than that of neighbouring Castle Acre.
In 2018 the Church of West Acre still has to address repairs to the churchyard walls, church roofs and electrics at a cost of approximately £350,000 an immense task for a small community. It is work which is yet to be tackled as we have yet to attract grant funding to assist with this work having been rejected by HLF and English Heritage 3 times. In West Acre the population is only 175.
The PCC are exploring with the Village Hall the possibility of turning the nave into a community facility.
If you have had any previous connection with, or a love of, All Saints Church then we invite you to help the congregation to retain this building for future years.
